  • Make more of the pool seasonAn enclosure can protect the pool from the weather and help you enjoy it beyond the warm summer months.
  • Keep warmth in the waterSuitable covers and enclosures help reduce heat loss. The right solution depends on your pool and how you use it.
  • Plan for safetySecuring access is an important part of planning. We discuss the characteristics of each solution with you. A cover does not replace supervision of children.
  • Consider the design as a wholeThe cover, pool and surroundings should work together, both practically and visually.

03 / THE SETTING FOR YOUR TIME OUT

Beautiful to look at.
Pleasant underfoot.

High-quality surrounds connect your pool to the garden. Colour and surface matter, but so do secure footing, care and the feel under your feet.

Which material suits your everyday life? Discover the individual qualities of natural stone, tiles and wood.

01 / Natural stone

A touch of nature. Right by the water.

No two slabs are exactly alike. Natural stone brings natural colours and textures to the pool, linking the water with the garden landscape. From warm sandy tones to cool grey, its appearance can be coordinated with your house and terrace.

Design & character

With its lively, open-pored texture, travertine has a Mediterranean feel. Granite can support a calmer, cleaner design. The specific stone, its finish and its relationship with the joints and pool edge are what matter.

What matters

For outdoor use, we check the suitability of the chosen stone, its frost resistance and a surface suitable for wet barefoot areas. Polished surfaces are not automatically suitable for pool edges. Edges, drainage and heat from the sun also inform the choice.

Everyday care

Remove leaves and dirt regularly and choose cleaners suited to the stone. Calcareous stones such as travertine are sensitive to acids, so vinegar and acidic bathroom cleaners are unsuitable. Whether sealing is worthwhile depends on the material and its use.

For those who appreciate natural variation and a surface with individual character.

02 / Tiles & porcelain stoneware

Clean lines. A harmonious whole.

Ceramic tiles and slabs offer many design possibilities, from understated concrete effects and natural stone looks to warm colours. Large formats can visually connect the pool, terrace and living area.

Design & character

Size, joint layout and colour shape the surface. A coordinated coping slab creates a clean transition to the water. A stone effect offers a more uniform look, while different formats can highlight individual areas.

What matters

We choose products specifically suited to outdoor use and the relevant wet barefoot area. Frost resistance alone is not enough: the base, installation, drainage and movement joints must work together. Suitable slip resistance is assessed using the product specifications.

Everyday care

Porcelain stoneware is generally easy to clean. Textured surfaces and joints still need regular attention. Remove dirt and deposits and follow the manufacturer’s care instructions; cleaning products must also suit the joint material.

For those who enjoy clean architecture and a coordinated palette of colours and shapes.

03 / Wood

Warm appeal. A living surface.

Wooden decking gives the space by the water a warm, welcoming feel. The grain and direction of the boards structure the terrace, connecting the lounging area, garden and pool into a unified outdoor living space.

Design & character

Wood changes over time. Sun and weather can create a silvery-grey patina. If you want to retain the original colour for longer, plan the appropriate surface treatment and its maintenance needs from the outset.

What matters

The wood species, durability and professional installation are crucial. A suitable substructure, ventilation and gaps between boards help drain moisture. Fixings and edges should be comfortable for bare feet. Wood can move and develop cracks or splinters during use.

Everyday care

Clean regularly, remove deposits and check the surface for loose areas or splinters. Wood can become slippery when wet or covered in growth. Whether and how often it needs oiling depends on the species, treatment, weather and desired appearance: a wooden terrace is not maintenance-free.

For those seeking a natural, welcoming atmosphere who are happy to plan for regular care.

MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE TOGETHER

The most beautiful solution also suits your everyday life.

We look at your terrace as a whole: how will the pool be used? How much sun does the area get? Which look appeals to you, and how much maintenance would you like to do? A material sample helps you assess colour, texture and feel before deciding.

Surface & edges

Consider slip resistance when wet, comfortable transitions and barefoot use.

Structure & drainage

Plan the base, drainage and connections to suit the material.

Sun & care

Consider heat, dirt and long-term maintenance needs.
